Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" ballet is a Boston tradition in December. It is back again this year. Almost every school child goes to see with her or his class; I did, and it was amazing.
South Station has decided to deck the hall with "The Nutcracker" banners! I wonder what else is in store!

The city Christmas tree was lit this weekend - a little early this year, I think. They put up lights around Quincy Market and Fanueil Hall. Not many people out at night - too cold and wet!
As I walked past Government Center tonight, I noticed a large number of vans and a lot of light. What could that mean? TV crews!
Sure enough, as I walked up the stairs I saw several TV channel crews with their lights, cameras and reporters. Too bad I didn't walk behind them. Then I could be on TV!
The first of many Christmas decorations have started to pop up all over the city. It's not even Thanksgiving - well, one week away. When I was a kid, it was bad form to put anything Christmas up before Thanksgiving. How times have changed.
It was a cold day, the first of many others coming. Despite the cold and the wind, people were waiting outside for their train to arrive. It's busy, but I think it is better to wait inside.
