My sincere apologies to everyone that reads this blog. I took some time off, but now I am back!

Well, I was walking near Government Center today, and I saw a display of trees. I saw a crowd near the main part, and I went to investigate. It was for a project called 'Back to Nature.'



They were giving out eco-bags and samples, so of course I got one as I wanted to see what it was about.




Inside were organic Madagascar vanilla pods! They smelled wonderful! They are all ready to be used for cooking delicious baked goods with.





Any suggestions?

Samuel Adams Brewery

I finally had time to check out a popular tourist destination in Boston: the Samuel Adams Brewery in Jamaica Plain, Boston.

It is a popular tour in Boston because it is free. I went on a Friday afternoon, when the brewery is open until 5:30pm.



The tour was informative. The guide, Jamie, talked about beer, how it is made and about the Sam Adams brand, a very popular beer. It is made mostly in Massachusetts; there are two other facilities in other states.



The tour was short; that was okay, because they do taste testing with a free Sam Adams glass. We got to try three beers: Boston Lager, a famous beer; a Pilsner; and Boston Red, a beer that is sold only in Boston bars and restaurants.



Of the three, I liked the Lager the best - and I am not even a beer drinker!

I will be back here over the summer, I think!

Boston Flower & Garden Show

Last weekend I had the chance to visit the Boston Flower & Garden Show at the Seaport World Trade Center. It was my first time to visit it, and I was delighted that I went!

There were many garden exhibits by local garden design firms/landscapers, as in the above picture.

It was crowded everywhere.



For my dessert fans, there were cakes with the flower theme. No, I couldn't eat the cake - they were just for display, but I wanted to!



There were exhibits of prize winning plants and flowers, such as this cactus.



There were also bushes and shrubs shaped like animals!



All in all, it was a great day and I think I have to go again next year!

Irish Step Dancing

Wednesday was St. Patrick's Day. It's a big holiday in the US and other English-speaking countries where Irish immigrants migrated.

As part of the day's activities, there is a performance of Irish step dancing in South Station at lunch time. I was in the station and I was able to capture these dancers.
