A Trip to Newport

I went down to Newport, Rhode Island for the day. The day started off cool, but then warmed up nicely.

It was really busy with tourists and students visiting the area. It is a historic town, famous for fishing and for the mansions.

I walked around the main part of the town.

First Bird of Spring

This past weekend had beautiful weather. It was sunny and warm. I could finally open the windows to let the fresh air in!

I was on my way into town when I noticed that the birds were singing! It must be spring! I caught this bird in a tree while waiting. She (or he) was looking directly at me!

New President !

Barack Obama became the 44th President of the US today. This weekend, it was the only topic on TV. He is everywhere, particularly in bookstores and other stores.
Today was an important day. We shall see what happens next.
